Ok read a few posts and some are saying a new wing mirror as the sensor cannot be replaced has anyone changed their sensor without buying a new mirror

The mirrors are the same on both Mk2.5 and Mk3.

I had a quick look online but can't see the correct temp sensor available to buy aftermarket.  I guess you could buy a damaged mirror cheaply and try to salvage the sensor from it.  Though tbh I'd probably just buy a decent used mirror to save the hassle.

Is there anything special about your mirrors?  Powerfold, BLIS, etc?

Ah, should be plenty of those about on eBay or at breakers yards then.  Colour doesn't matter as you can swap the cap easily.

Before i buy a new wing mirror does anyone know if i disconnect the battery would this do a reset ?

I'd advise against that. You will find fitting a wing mirror on the door is very difficult 🤣

As it happens there is no reason to disconnect the battery in order to replace the door mirror. It is a very simple case of just unplugging it and then plugging in the replacement. The whole job should take less than 30 minutes and nothing needs to be reset.

Many thanks

Typically me thinking just to disconnect thebaytery will sort out the existing mirror

Gonna bite the bullet and buy a new one

Thanks again

Sensor does remove as it has to go in from new.

But it's not sold as a separate item, always comes with a new mirror head.

As, mentioned, you could buy a salvage mirror and reuse the sensor, but it's buried, right down, in the body, it's the first thing that goes in
