Stoplock Pro

Featured Replies

Hello, do any Mk 8 owners use a Stoplock Pro ? What I would like to know is does it fit either side of any of the steering wheel spokes, ideally the side ones with the buttons on making it difficult to remove by cutting the steering wheel? Thanks.

I have one on my BMW X2, no issues

Thanks.

Mine does, you can move it until it hits the window or gear tunnel

Fantastic. Just what I was hoping to see. No way that's coming off with 2 cuts either side is there ? I think I am right in saying you would have to cut the spoke off also which would be more difficult and troublesome for anybody. Thanks.

I mount mine at the spoke

Couldn't you just cut the long end off to nick it?  I know the block would be awkward to steer with but I don't think it'd actually stop the wheel turning?  Once you get it back to the lock-up and shut the door, can take your time cutting the block off.  No need to cut the wheel.

Never had one so don't know how strong and tough that bar is. Sure anybody using one will let us know. Never seen anyone attack this in test videos so assume it must be made of decent stuff. Thanks.

Thanks for posting but that video is the old Stoplock original. The Pro is the tougher one with the metal hooks.  Take your point on the original. no place for todays cars.

I've owned a Stoplock and later a Stocklock Pro but I no longer own either. The "Pro" version has a much stronger lock mechanism with chunky metal bars which hook around the steering wheel. I would definitely buy the "Pro" version. I can't comment on it's fit with the Fiesta because I only used it on my previous car. It was awkward having it on the passengers floor in the car when not in use but if you want a strong lock that's a great visual deterrent then it's ideal.

Indeed, there are also videos on them being picked but it takes a couple of minutes and possibly a little more skill than the old style lock.

Easier and quicker for the thief to choose a different car 😉 .  I used to fit the lock with the steering turned one way so it couldn't be pulled straight onto a trailer.

Many thanks.  The post from Black Sheep earlier in the thread shows it is a good fit for Fiesta Mk8.

Hi

Did you get the Stoplock Pro?

I was about to pull the trigger on the disklok, but it's pricey, and I just want an extra level of deterrent,  so I just ordered the Stoplock Pro as Im sure its easier to fit than that huge heavy full steering wheel cover.

I nearly got the Elite version but seems like the PRO is fine for Fiesta, I have mk 8 st line, so hope it fits.

Can always return if it doesn't.

Tom, these are bought by owners who treasure their car. They'd never dream of damaging their pride & joy. A scum bag thief will simply hacksaw through the steering wheel, and peel this style of lock off! Car still derivable, and replacement wheel cheap in comparison to resell price.

I guess you know what's coming next LOL Disklok is much more secure!

If you're only nicking one old car, a steering wheel might be an easy replacement.  But presumably thieves armed with cutting tools and OBD interrogators are in organised crime gangs.  Surely someone would notice them bulk buying Mk8 Fiesta steering wheels!
