Alarm via boot access

Featured Replies

      Hello,

Do any Mk 8 owners know if Ford solved the issue of illegal access via the boot to avoid setting the Fiesta alarm off with the Mk8 or facelift 8.5 ?

I'm sure many of you will be aware the undesirables would try and unlock the car via front door lock then gain access through unlocked boot as it would not set the alarm off. Hoping to put my name on a new Titanium this week but don't want it be an easy target for OBD attacks.  Currently have one of the first Mk8s from new so any knowledge of advancements much appreciated.

Just did a manual unlock with the blade key from driver's door and the boot and rest of the doors remain locked even when driver side door opened.  Alarm sounds after 12 seconds from door opening if car not started with a valid key.

There's probably something wrong with this idea but it mght be worth a try. Check, in lock settings, to see if only the driver's door is unlocked rather than all locks (incluing the boot) from the key fob. This (pehaps?) single door unlocking would  prevent access to the boot if 'only'! one door was forced open.

Thanks. Yes,my current settings seem to keep the boot locked so if  got a new one I would certainly be using this again.
