Mk6 Fuel regulator

Featured Replies

Hiya guys, hope you’re doing well. I’m currently having issues with my car turning on, it cranks but doesn’t start. I have already gotten the fuel sensor changed and managed to get rid of two codes I had before (p0087 and p0164). But now I have two remaining codes which are also stopping the car from starting. but if i clear the codes, the car manages to start and run okay and then if I try that again the following morning, it starts before roughly idling and dying with an engine malfunction on the dash.

The remaining two codes are related to the fuel regulator. Could it be the regulator or wiring issues? Maybe even circuit failure?

Short to positive would usually indicate a wiring loom fault.  Though open circuit could be loom or regulator.

If you're able to test the loom effectively then that should be the next step.  But if you just want to try the cheapest & easiest DIY part then replacing the regulator would either fix it or rule it out.
