zebedee8
Just wondered if anyone has had their middle row seats collapse as mine have. The foam base that you sit on has ended up inside the seat frame as the spring base support underneath had collapsed. This means that anyone sitting in the seat is actually sitting on/in the seat frame instead of on the seat base foam. Ford have quoted me over £500+vat for the outer seats and over £400+ vat for the middle seat base replacements parts only. I hate to think how much they'll charge to fit them. They say it is wear and tear but just wondered if anyone else has had this happen as this is my 4th galaxy and never had a problem with the previous ones. Thanks for reading. unofix
Never seen anyone here mention a problem with the seats. Is this being used as a Taxi/Private Hire ? I'd be looking at vehicle dismantling centre's or scrap yards.
alanfp
Or do a bodge, I mean repair, if you can get to the underside of the seats. Have all three gone???
zebedee8
It's the outer ones that have gone and the one behind the drivers seat is worse
TomsFocus
Can't say I've heard of this happening. Is anything heavy regularly placed on the seats? As above, I'd either look at used replacements or repair instead of brand new ones.
zebedee8
All sorted. Took seat to a guy I found locally who replaces seat coverings in cars. Apparently the frame spring thing underneath had come away in places and was attached in places it shouldn't have been. ,£30 repair well worth the money
