Currently wait on my new car, hoping to receive delivery of it end of October,  this will be my first automatic car. 

This is aimed toward people who have been driving the Mk4.5 Focus for awhile. 

what would you say are the pros and cons with owning the Mk4.5 Focus.  And if given the choice would you still go for the car or would you buy something else.  

I had a MK4, but what's the difference between a 4.5 and a 4? (apart from having a face that's gone 5 rounds with Mike Tyson)

I owned 26 new Fords and the MK4 was the last new Ford I had.

Something else

Ford's are just too expensive now, but still built like Cortinas. (Nowt wrong with a Cortina, either, but they were cheap to buy)

i have a mk4.5 ST-Vignale auto 1.5 diesel , i use it has my work car ,im a driving instuctor and has my personal car , the auto box is brilliant , the engine is resonably quite once warrmed up but a bit clattery when cold, usually during the working work i average 48mpg which considering the type of driving it does i think it pretty good , last weekend going to ford fair it averaged 68mpg , overall its a great car
