My 07 Fiesta tall gate won't open with the fob or dash button. Has anyone fixed this.? I see youtube videos  but it seems a bit difficult

If it is the actuator that has gone faulty, it will need to be replaced. If you've never worked on cars before, seek out a friendly local independent garage and let them repair it for you. DON'T take it to a Ford dealer unless you are a lottery winner...

This job should be manageable for a beginner.  Which part do you feel is too difficult?

Well the video is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. No information as to how to get the tailgate open so that you can change the solenoid.

Possibly, with rear seats folded down and the parcel shelf removed you can get in the boot and work on removing the inside tailgate trim panel. Or do you have a manual keylock that you can open from the outside ?

It's a Mk6...just put the key in the barrel on the tailgate and turn it.

I surmise from the original post, that'll all be too difficult! Shall we start a book on the OP taking it to a garage to get sorted? 😂 To be fair, my boot lock has gone faulty 3 times. Each time I've just taken it to 'my guy', and even after watching him, take off the trim, unplug the old lock, refit everything, when it goes again, I'll likely take it back to him...

They only said it looked a bit difficult.  Isn't everything in life a bit difficult?

It's a totally different part to the Mk2 Focus in fairness.  These really are easy to change.  Lost count of the number I changed around 10 years ago!!

Much better video here -

That is a really good video, I reckon I'd even attempt that! Though I don't drink so wonder if I can substitute the initial bottle of beer for a cuppa 🤣
