Hi I am hoping for some insight please. My ford focus 1.6 petrol 2000 plate started sounding alarm after driving a couple of hundred miles. Had been fine but then started showing traction control light and dropping in and out of limp mode. It has been c leader down by the garage but is reoccurring and occasionally decides not to try to start but go back after a few minutes and it's fine.  Thinking possibly a bad connection ????

    If you use some diagnostic software for Ford's like FORScan or use the genuine Ford DTC reader as used by a Ford garage then there will almost certainly be some diagnostic codes stored in memory.

    With out the DTC's then its a guessing game. It could be a ABS wheel sensor (or wiring to it), or it could be a car battery with a low state of charge, but the list goes on.

    Thanks, thought it was worth an ask.  It was looked at, twice. One guy said. Oh it's 001 never seen that before but the garage had a better machine and said it's lost contact with one of more systems. Didn't give me the code though. To be fair I don't think that sheds any light on.it either. Back to the haystack!
