Hi over the past 2 weeks our 2019 Focus has developed a 'fusty' odour in the cabin. Not checked for any damp yet but could the air con need cleaning?

Also would the cabin filter contribute to odd smells and indicate replacement is necessary?

Can someone please advise where the filter is located please. No doubt it involves some form of contortion to access lol

once you changed the pollen filter

get stocked up with a few of these while half price, will make the air-con smell nice again

Got aftermarket filter, air con cleaning foam and air con bomb for £19. Wonder how much Ford charge just to swap the filter?

Approximately £70.

I had my car serviced (second service) earlier this year (Ford dealer) and was asked if i wanted the cabin filter replaced. When I asked how much I was given a figure of around £70 if memory serves me correctly. I declined their kind offer and thought I'll do that myself later. So now is probably the time to get the job done before the winter comes back.

don`t look too bad depends on how much rubbish/dirt is between the grooves

I had to resort to using this stuff as it kept coming back and this worked very well.

i can remember useing one of them foam cleaners many many years ago look good but when you pop the fans on full you get all the rubbish blowing out the vents a few days later 🤣
