Error code 16 on my MK7 2009 Fiesta :(

Featured Replies

Hi, so my 2009 MK7 Fiesta recently stopped working. One day, fine - next? Turn to crank, no fuel pump, nothing. Except for the immboliser light on the dashboard flashing and then showing error "16" in morse code. Turning the ignition turns out various dash lights, including transmission, airbags etc. The mileage also wouldn't show in the central info screen. Neither main or spare key start the engine.

I've had the instrument cluster removed, sent off for repair and nothing has changed, besides the mileage now showing with the key in the ignition until its turned to the 3rd position. All fuses have been checked and all is fine. What else could it be??

I'm about to start a new job and rely on my car for transport. Any help is massively appreciated!!

Have you checked for water ingress to the GEM ?

Disconnect the negative lead from the battery before you start removing  and checking the GEM connectors.

Yes, as Unofix says, check GEM for water damage and then PCM
