Steering Wheel Lock

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Unfortunately my Fiesta ST was recently stolen. I am buying a new one (2017 Mk 7 66 reg) and thinking about extra security measures such as a steering wheel lock.

Can anyone recommend a good steering wheel lock? Disclock seems to be a popular, if expensive option. It does look quite heavy though and I'd be concerned about the stress it might put on the wheel if left on for a few days.

Any recommendations would be greatly received.

Many thanks

Stand-by ..........

@StephenFord will be able to help 😉

By the way Stephen I liked your idea of putting the velcro inside the cover. 👍

The krooklock disclock is an excellent lock. I bought the Halfords equivalent which was half the price. I've used it on all my cars with No issues on putting stress on the steering column. Oh I've had mine for about 20ish years. I thoroughly recommend it.

Well, you did ask LOL Here's my Disklok, never had a car stolen with it fitted, so obviously works 🤣

Use a wheel cover, disklok sell one or could use a pillowcase. Have the locking bar to one side or at the bottom of the wheel, mines can be on for a couple weeks at a time with no issues.

also look into getting an immobiliser, viper or sterling are recommended, look on YouTube for videos on how to disconnect the boot lid button, can still open the boot using the fob. Move the OBD port, fit it into a box if possible, can buy dummy ports on eBay to fill the gap the original came from.

Or, use self adhesive 'velcro' positioned inside the Disklok to provide a protective cushion...
