Mk2 Squeaky Rear Brakes

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Bit of a strange one, about 2 months ago I replaced the FRONT Disks and pads.

As soon as drove the car, I noticed every time I press the brakes, the REAR drums squeak. I'm 99% sure it's the rear drums, but regardless every time I press the brake pedal there's a squeak.

Also, it only does it in dry weather and with the handbrake off (whilst driving)

But how/what on earth has caused this to happen, when I only changed the front?

Thanks

Have you checked the condition of the rear brake shoes ?

Yes they're fine, I literally let the jack down, reversed the car off the drive and now everytime I press the brake pedal it squeaks lol
