Steering column universal joint

Hi 

My fiesta 1.25 (02-08 model) has a wear / play on the steering column universal joint.

After looking online, it seems that the whole steering column is one piece, i.e. it is not possible to only replace the shaft with universal joint.

The second hand ones that I see online also come with the ignition on them?

Has anyone had similar experience with this in the past, how difficult can be to get replaced?

Any advice is much appreciated.
