2010 Mk2.5 2L TDCI eating turbo actuator position sensors?

Featured Replies

I've got a 2010 TDCI, I don't know if it has been remapped before I bought it and I haven't had a ford for years prior to getting this but its pretty rapid so I wonder if its been remapped, maybe not but it feels quicker than it should be for a stock 2l diesel.

Anyway I keep getting P2263 codes and if I change the turbo actuator position sensor on the underneath of the turbo housing this seems to fix it and it goes like a rocket again. I am however getting a bit fed up with changing this and would like consistent reliability. The part isn't available from Ford as a separate item, only as part of the whole turbo so I'm forced to buy chinese copies (well i think they are anyway), this, you might say, is the issue with realiability being cheap copies but without another option I'm a bit stuck.

Does anyone know if there is a cause of these failing regularly?

Could it be due to a poor remap thats over extending the actuator arm or something? the sensor is pretty rudimentary with just a stick plunger on the back of it to give the position reading. Has anyone else overcome this problem. is there something else that is causing the problem? Its not a vacuum line issue because as soon as the sensor is changed its back to normal again.

appreciate any help with this!

When I had the same code it was actually this part that can be found just across from the relay box and it was making noises like a duck
