Just bought a 1.0 ecoboost focus. Been to get rid before 70k ( this is a 2014 with 34k) are there problems I should look out for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's due a £1500-2000 wetbelt (cam belt in oil) change next year.

Although on that low mileage, I might be tempted just to do it now as it's probably rarely got up to temp.

Wet timing belt is by far the biggest issue with these now.  They are recommended to be replaced at 10 years old so yours are now due if not done already.  Cost is likely to be over £1000.  If you can return it and buy something else, that would be my advice.

I guess, like many things, it all depends.....

If this was a car I'd owned from new, liked, knew to be in tip-top condition and intended to hang on to, I'd be inclined to follow Alex's suggestion.

But it's not, so I'd be more inclined Toms way.

Keep finding myself noticing 1.0s on 13, 63, 14, 64 plates etc (many of which appear to be in superb condition), and wondering if the owners are aware of the issue and what they will do.
