Any Point Modding?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am new to the site so first of all I'd like to say hello to everyone.

I have been a Ford owner all my life but I have never carried out any sort of mods on my cars. I currently drive a standard, off the shelf, 57 plate Focus zetec 1.8 tdci. I have recently started to get obsessed with cars and im saving for a MK3 escort to play with and mod. My question is, is there any point in doing anything to my focus or due to the fact that its a standard focus and not that special (its no ST), the bhp isnt amazing and its diesel  its best left alone and my money saved for my MK3?

Or should I play with both cars?

Cheers,

Trust me, once the modding bug bites you'll be hooked and will start modding everything.

I have, i have 2 Mk3 Escorts i'm doing now

My question is, is there any point in doing anything to my focus or due to the fact that its a standard focus and not that special (its no ST), the bhp isnt amazing and its diesel  its best left alone and my money saved for my MK3?

Cheers,

Welcome FOC

the problem with modding is it generally ends up costing you a fortune :o and you see little or no return when it comes to sell the car :(

– but if you like an individual look … hell yes B)

Hi all,

Cheers,

You'll be needing One Of These then to get you started :D

Welcome to the forum

yeah once you start you'll be searching high and low for all sorts of stuff for your car. mines a standard 1.8 focus so not exactly lightning quick either but theres no harm in it looking good or individual?

Thanks for all the comments and cheers for the warm welcome to the forum.

I was thinking more along the line of new brakes, air filter and pipes to get me going as apposed to body work such as skirts etc. So it will only look good under the bonnet and through the alloys. But wondered if these things would make an improvement to my car?

Also, looked at the Bluefin, does it really work?

Cheers guys,
