Oil Leak- Fiesta TDCI MK8

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 67 plate MK8 Fiesta TDCI.

I have noticed over past couple of weeks I've been getting intermittent warning on dash saying 'low engine oil level, add oil'... I check it and level is fine, its gone a little down yes but still within the max and min markers. Also, I've noticed a non-drying wet patch appearing on my drive...and there is also a small wet patch seeping through the engine bay panel underneath the car which is then dripping on to the floor. Due to the non drying and consistency of what's dripping it seems like an oil leak.

Anyone had this issue before or what the problem is? etc... thanks 👍🏻

I'd get that undertray off and get the leak fixed ASAP

Leaking coming from the EGR cooler. Hi-temp sealant applied and now monitoring it 🙂...

Hi Harmony,

Thanks for update. I too have a mk8 tdci  - is yours the 85 or 120ps version? (Maybe that makes no odds with the oil leak tho?). Am partly curious as to whether this is something I should watch out for... or maybe just paranoid 😉

Hi,

Sorry for delay in reply. Mine is the 85 version.

The only thing that triggered me to get it looked at was that it was making a nice oily patch on the drive and on the under-tray. Oil level never dropped much, eventhough i kept getting 'engine oil level low, add oil' warning on the dash... and I always checked but level was fine so 🤷‍♀️ . Not really any pre-warning signs, which is always helpful lol! 😉
