Puddles appear after using AC Fiesta Ecoboost 2020

Featured Replies

Hi

New here, hoping someone could advise if the below is Normal please?

Only noticed over the last week or so, whenever i have AC on in the car it is dripping and creating a little puddle - liquid is clear and has no smell to it at all.

i cant really see where its coming from but it is middle-ish under windscreen area the puddle(s) is occurring- have checked all other fluids including oil/coolant/windscreen wash and cant see anything strange- from what i can see Engine bay is dry. Someone i work with thinks it may be AC leaking from the Pan- has this happened to anyone else? do i need to take it in to get looked at?

NB- Aircon is running cold as normal- footwells on driver & passenger side also bone dry 🙂

Thanks in advance

It's nothing to worry about. Just condensation from the air con.

And in case you don't know run it in winter with the heat on - it will help defrost the windows - and it keeps the a/c working properly

As above it will more than likely be condensation (water) from the air-con condenser in the heat/ventilation system.  Nothing to worry about. It is how a lot of de-humidifiers work. If you have climate control, the air-con will turn on when you select max defrost, or it's a good idea to use it to defrost if you have manual heating. It de-humidifies the air which de-mists the windscreen quicker.

I never turn mine off

Me neither. And on a car with climate, I just set my preferred temperature when I first get the car, press "auto" and never touch it again.

You guys must enjoy fan noise.

I rarely hear the A/C fan. I have it set to Auto 2, so it limits the fan speed.

What fan noise?🤪

I think this is going to be one of those times where my noise sensitivity exceeds everyone else's.

I don't just mean interior fans as they can be turned down.  I mean the radiator fan.  I get irritated by mine running every couple of weeks for DPF regen, can't stand it running for AC until the heat becomes unbearable.  Also notice it a lot when on foot...barely any engine or tyre noise from most cars  but a huge VBVVBVHBVHVBVHVBVJHBHCVVBVHVBVBVHVB from a rad fan blasting through my brain. :ermm:
