St225 when ESP ON smoke of the exhaust and losing rpms

Featured Replies

The thing is, when i have my esp on and turn on the car it stars loosing rpms and the car shuts off and the gas pedal almost does nothing, a lot of smoke in the back and on the dash it says esp system fault.  But when i turn off the esp after i i turn on the car again i have no problems with anything. Only does this eith ESP ON... with ESP OFF there is no problem. What is the cause? It always does it if not immediately after i turn the car on shortly after i drive, it makes a clicking sound and then it goes in like this mode.

May be worth looking at the MAF as its readings come into play for the torque calculations used with ESP system. And see if you can get any fault codes read off the car
