1.6 TDCi noise from timing belt area

Featured Replies

Hello together,

maybe you can help on this problem 😞

I had a rubbing noise coming from the timing belt area so I changed the timing belt + water pump about 7400 kilometers ago (SKF VKMC 03259 set). I have an 2004 Ford Focus C-Max 1.6 TDCI 110HP DV6 with now 214800 Kilometers (133470 miles)

Now the noise came back. The video below describes the noise perfectly, do you have any idea ? Thanks in advance

did you change the pulleys and tensioners whilst in there ?

Yes, I changed the tensioner and the little pulley of the timing belt.

Have you tried running the engine with the accessory belt removed to see if you still get the noise.

I tried that today, noise is still there (but a little bit quieter) which is very weird

old school, get a long screwdriver and place it in various places while you put your ear to the handle, be careful tho
