Aircon/heater No airflow : fixed

Hi gang. 

I couldn't find anything on web about diagnosis of this fault with this model. 2018 zetec galaxy 2.0 tdci 6sp manual

So, problem is no life from the internal aircon fan. Aircon makes all the usual sounds of flaps opening etc and I can hear the load from the Aircon compressor on the engine. 

I pulled the horrible engine bay relay and swapped with the same part number starter relay. Car started. Not the relay.

Flipped the fusebox upside down. What a PITA. Checked the 40a fuse in position 79. Looked good.

So, resistor or fan.

Stripped the passenger footwell. See pic. Took hours.

Got to the fan and turned it by hand. Start up the Aircon system and hey presto. It runs. 

I'm getting a new blower motor anyway. Don't want to have to do this mid winter. It sounds a bit rough, so I think it's past it. Disappointed and doesn't instill confidence.

I had to pull all lines from the fuse board and take out the board itself to allow the blower to drop. Disconnect battery before latter. 

Hope there are no rattles after I put it back together. Off the road for the moment.
