Wiper Blades

Featured Replies

hi

wondering what wiper blades to get? (2019 Focus)

i'll probably hit halfords for these as i get a discount, unless there's something better i should be getting?

anyone experience with these? are they worth the (many) extra pennies?

Also, any tips on changing them? just head to youtube i guess 🤔 😄

I recommend these. They don't judder at the ends unlike flat blades.  https://heynershop.co.uk/index.php?controller=partsfilter&type=4&make=12&model=113&body=237&year=2217

Are they self charging or do you have to plug them in?

I've only ever used Bosch wipers as replacements. Ok they cost more but they've never been replaced whilst I've had the car.

They charge as they wipe 😉

is it 26" or 24" for the driver side?

Not so sure about that but I threw away the Bosch ones i bought for my car for a month or so for the heyner ones. Far superior.

It Should be 26” for the drivers side, I put some Bosch aero twin on mine last December and they’re okay at motorway speeds but find they chatter and skip when driving below 50mph, they haven’t lasted too well neither did the ones I put on a Volvo S80 for my grandparents a few years back so can’t say I’d buy them again. I’d try seek out some silicone blades over rubber if possible purely for their longevity, I’ve heard great things about them and I’m sure the Halfords Advanced range is as good as any although the Heyner blades at £20.49 look like a good option.

I’ve had Bosch on mine for about 3.5 years now not had any issues.

The OEM ones squeaked from factory.

It’s possible I’ve just had a bad experience, a family member was a representative for Trico and swore by their products a lot of them were made by Bosch as were the factory fit ones on my Focus.

It couldn’t be easier to change them just simply press the button on the wiper arm and slide the the wiper out and then the reverse for fitting just slide the new wipers in providing the correct adapter is fitted some come with a multitude of different adapter’s for various different systems but easily swapped if that’s the case.

There's something odd going on with Bosch blades.  I stopped using them around 6/7 years ago after a couple of poor quality sets.  The internet still seems to be divided about whether they're good quality or not.  Perhaps they just have poor quality control so some batches are better than others... 🤔

Probably a lot of fakes around too.

The flat blades judder due to lack of support along the length of blade, also the the  Bosch attachments depending on vehicle wiper arm type makes the the blade wobble about. Obviously worse the longer the blade.

I would hope Halfords are not selling fake Bosch blades

That's true.  Though I bought one set from Halfords and another from ECP so they should  have been genuine.

The car I bought a few weeks ago has Bosch blades that according to service invoice from July were fitted . There's doing exactly the same as the previous car  did before I changed them to heyner blades. I've already ordered some for this vehicle and should be here tomorrow hopefully.

I’ve bought mine from eBay. Maybe the fakes are better than the genuine ones. 😄

ended up with the Bosch Aero Twin, got a good price on them. they look and perform well so far

super easy to swap over with the TopLock. I honestly can't remember ever changing wiper blades on any cars, having had company cars for near 20 years it's something i never had to do until now 😛 i think it used to be a lot trickier

You got the very best wiper blades there 👍
