Car is throwing up p0420 and p2196,I can hear a blowing from flexi pipe, could this cause the problem

    An air leak would cause an issue I would focus on that and clear the codes and see what happens afterwards. Although p0420 is to do with the cat so it may be blocked or p2196 is the sensor so it could be that which is causing the issues. The cheapest option would be the sensor first to see if it helps.

    Hi Paul. Air leak from flexi pipe? Are we to assume you mean part of the exhaust system?

    If that's the case then first step is fix the leak. Probably you'll need a new flexible pipe considering the age of car. Once replaced clear the codes with Forscan.

    Any leaks in the exhaust system will throw up all kinds of error codes.
