2011 1.6 focus mk3 TDCI dipped beam not working

Featured Replies

I have bit of a lighting issue... I'm not mechanically inclined by any stretch of the imagination but YouTube has served me very well so far.

so my sidelights work, full beam works, RAC mechanic has checked fuse box in engine bay and under the glove box and assured me that the fuses all have power to them. also I have changed the bulbs just to rule out the obvious and yes the new bulbs still didnt work.

he suggested that I change the switch that turns the lights on and off, but the switch turns on the side lights, and on the display between the speedo and rev clock shows that the lights should be on. so could it be a switch issue or something else?

I'm not stressing to much but would like to resolve this soon as my MOT is up in December.

any ideas of what it could be? or what else I need to check?

PLEASE HELP

You want to hope that it is a faulty switch, and yes it can very well be faulty even if the side lights are working. It could also be a faulty 'dipped beam / full beam' switch fault.

The alternative fault will be a problem with the Body Control Module (BCM), usually caused by water ingress. If that is the cause of the headlight fault then it is difficult and sometimes costly to repair.
