Silver And Chrome

Featured Replies

I was thinking of getting the silver and chrome jell overlays for my silver and chrome titanium.Do you think its the best colour scheme to go for.

Hi

I have silver and chrome for my badges on my fiesta

They will blend in too much. on the other hand dont go for something totally out rageous like ecto plasm green lol.

Maybe Yellow. Or Or Blue Ford Writing on a Silver background that is the opposite to standard.

Jamie

Sounds a good choice. If going for a diff colour scheme, make sure they match up with something else, callipers etc

I've just recently added the Silver and Chrome overlays from DMB to my Zetec S.. here are some pics:

Thanks mate.

However IIRC, Pree's was constantly on with a white LED and then turned to red upon braking however this appears to be just a brake light Lenny?

hi,

yes i contacted the seller on these and he says they are just red, no white which suits me as i only want it to light when i brake,

not sure but i think the white on the rear may attract the coffe drinking dounut eating Garda

red when braking would be a nice stealth look as it wouldnt be noticed until i did brake, also dmb have done a custom request on my rear badge see below :D

ive got carbon/chrome badge on the front and this on the rear, would look good with the red ring too lol

Yeah kind of agree mate, I'd prefer a nice wee hidden 4th brake light.

Only thing is they say your provided with 0.5m of wiring with it and you have you tap into a brake light feed but surely thats not enough cable to do so??

Ive just bought one from them,

got it for £11.00 on a best offer so £15.97 in total

Would be enough to get you inside the car and hook it to the reg plate bulbs for the earth feed,

then with extra cable purchased from Click Here run the positive feed up the pillar of the boot panel and tap in to the positive feed on the centre brake light in the rear spoiler,

may be able to fish this inside the boot panel cavity,

ill talk to pree as he also said somthing about a resistor being fitted, what for? i dont currently know, but id like to have somthing in the positive feed to regulate the voltage

as i dont want to fit it then blow it with a surge some day from sitting in traffic braking alot :D

then wrap all the cable in this stuff Click Here i have a roll of it already,

i used it for the second boot light, its material tape not plastic, it gives the cable extra insulation and strength, its also anti flame so its all good.

sounds like alot of work, but the biggest job in it is removing the rear panel, and thats not really that big of a job,

best thing to do i suppose is to take plenty of pictures to help remember where the bits return, and also keep a tub in the boot for all the bolts,

once the panel with the badge on it is removed, i can then work on it at the kitchen table, wiring the loom and taping it all up,

then return to the car fish the positive up to the rear centre brake light splice the connections

and your on the home run then, just put all the panels back togeather. B)

Thanks mate.

First of all the DMB GFX look great and blend in well , some thing i must get around to doing.

Boot Light Badge

I turned the White glow off and it is now connected to the reverse light so glows white when selecting reverse :) regulation not being able to show white light unless it is a reverse light to rear of car.

Red is connected to the top LED brake light and yes i did run extra wire down the side of the Rear tail hatch under the trim , through the flex at the top and into the LED brake light , very easy to wire .

This is a dedicated MOD , meaning you must be prepared for a little bit of work as the Rear Badge on a mk2 and mk2.5 Fcous is part of the rear boot trim that has to be cut away , also the badge is a thin bit of Tin than needs to be separated from the plastic boot trim. My Guide shows you how i did it

Out come is it looks very neat little mod when completed

Thanks Pree, and yes its not a quick easy mod by any stretch but a good result in the end.

Oh and Lenny, the resistor was fitted to dim the brightness of the white LED so with this just being a brake light a resistor shouldn't be needed I think.

The resister was only going to be used if i had kept the white glow on during side light operation so as i connected to reverse instead i did not connect a resistor
