Bonnet not opening

Featured Replies

Hi,

Key is no longer opening the bonnet on 2.0 Focus tdci titanium.

I have seen videos on youtube where you take the two screw push clips each side and try and pop the grill out but its still not coming out with ease.

I can still see the bottom of some other clips on the underside of the top grill but not sure if this whats stopping it popping out easily. Do these need to be broken out too?

This grill is the bar/slat type not the honeycombe effect one.

What I done when I had a MK2 was got underneath it then slackened off the radiator bolts to move it out the way and got my hand up to the latch bolts and took it off which freed the bonnet then from eBay I bought a new long type mechanism which had its own key which worked perfect. It saves breaking stuff.
