Mk1 boot leak

Its driving me mad .getting a pool of water back rite in the boot .i thought it was the bung but then seen a video saying its the vent in the bumper but wen i put my hand round there its dry .it just a random pool of water that runs in to the wheel well .any ideas

After sitting im my boot for 30mins in the rain 🤣 i found it ..it looks like the water is running down my boot closed and in to the bumper seem  and when i look in side i can see it coming in thru this  seem ..any ideas how to fix it

Congrats on finding it!

Fix is probably to remove the bumper and seal the seam from the outside.

 

I fixed a similar issue on my mk2.5 from the inside using some silicone sealant - worth a try before removing the bumper especially if the actual leak path isn’t that obvious looking at the outside seams etc

I ended up getting some clear silicone sealent and running it along to bumper then n putting a bit on the inside and its worked perfect 😁😁 no more stinky wet boot
