Has my Fiesta got either a wet belt or chain engine ?

Featured Replies

2018 ford fiesta mk8 1.1 ti vct wet belt or chain driven engine ? I’ve tried searching internet with no definite answer to this question, many thanks for anyone who knows the answer 👍😄

Hi Martin,

There are actually a couple of threads on here about this one. It's a wet belt, in effect an ecoboost without the turbo.

With the exception of the 1.5 ST, which has always been chain, petrol Mk 8  Fiestas were all wet belt up to around mid-2020, when the revised engine with chain began to be fitted to some versions.

Many thanks for your reply, I’ll be making sure to change oil every 5000 miles with correct oil cheers
