Low rpm engine noise

Featured Replies

I know it's difficult to diagnose noises without actually seeing the car but wondering if anyone has had similar problems.

Just drove my 1.6tdci fiesta, and between 1000~1500 revs there is a very low note/hum, it almost sounds like a vibration but there doesn't appear to be any from inside the car or anything rattling around the engine bay.

Car runs fine, changes gears fine, and the noise goes away after around 1500 rpm, the sound is present both in gear and neutral. Have noticed it's putting out quite a bit more black smoke than usual currently but it did do a dpf regen yesterday.

Recently it's had the exhaust back box replaced as it had a hole in it, will attach some videos below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, unfortunately most garages around me are closed throughout the weekend so will have to try book in during the week.
