Sensor behind rear bumper Mk7 titanium

Featured Replies

I have just bought a fiesta Mk7 titanium and there is a crack in the rear bumper that I am having repaired.

When I took the bumper off I found the remains of a sensor I think, the plug has 2 wires, a purple and a green/orange.

It looks like it would be fixed to the plastic piece on the rear panel.

Anyone know what is is/was so I can order one?

Many thanks

Can you post a photo of it ?

It's not there, I just had a couple of pins hanging out of the connector and a bit of plastic under the clips.

Just need to find out what it was.

The car has an airbag light on but I don't think it's related

I think that's for the keyfob antenna.  Should be a small black rectangular sensor right in the centre above the crash bar.

That looks like the thing, thanks for that Any idea what it does?

Silly question I know but the car starts and locks/ unlocks with the key buttons.

Any idea if a new one would need to be programmed to the car?

It's an antenna for keyless entry.  Will only be used if you try to open the boot without pressing the unlock button on the fob first.

The new one doesn't need programming as it's just a sensor, the codes are stored within the keyless module.
