Coolant Tank

Hi,

Looking to purchase a 1.25ltr fiesta as a first car for my daughter, noticed the coolant expansion tank cap was off when looking under the bonnet.

The car dealer said it was to "air the coolant and get rid of the air and any bubbles"....is this something to be concerned about?

Already paid a deposit and looking to pick up at the weekend.

Appreciate any advice as not too good with cars.

    Lee, I see you have posted elsewhere about other issues with this car (MOT advisories). 

    I agree with Dave anyway, but is there anything else?

    Have they replaced the cambelt and waterpump as part of the sale?  If so, they could legitimately be bleeding the coolant. 

    Although this does sound like typical dealer BS for someone forgetting to replace the cap... :unsure:
