rattling is on both sides sounds like metal on metal changed

drop links

shock absorbers

wishbone arm, bushes and lower ball joint

track rod end

both drive shafts and cv joints

both strut mount

anti roll bar drop links

Hi 2000mkindy!, seeing as you've been under your mk6, can you tell me what's the state of that bracing bar that runs across the middle with the exhaust centre pipe over the top of it. On my son's newly acquired mk6, the securing bolts or studs are very corroded and I'm doubtful they'd undo without snapping off. My understanding is that to change the exhaust pipe this bar needs to be removed....is this correct? Cheers!

Nick, Yes.

To replace with a single piece system that bracing bar needs to come off, and if they do snap off, then it can be a job to replace those studs with some other fixing.

Undoing the flange bolts at the engine end can also be difficult - at least on a 1.6 petrol.

Shaun - is the rattling either road speed, engine speed or bump related ?
