Fiesta Ghia 1.4 2006 - Lukewarm Air

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a MK6 2006 and for the past 12 months the heat I previously got from the blowers inside the car is lukewarm at best even when the car gets upto 80 degrees on the dash reader. My heated windscreen has given up the ghost so preparing for using the blower to help keep the windscreen clear and get the car semi toasty again inside.

The air blows well on all settings, except when switched to the windscreen which now has the power of an ant's f&rt.

I've checked the o-style wire clip on the heater control is connected as I read these can pop off, but as I was getting some level of heat I thought this wouldn't be the case.

I changed the heat resistor over the weekend which didn't improve things, now I read that's only necessary for the amount of air rather than the level of heat.

The coolant is at a stable level and it is not slime, so no leaks.

Someone on the Fiesta Facebook group said it could be the thermostat (I only received one reply so far), but before changing that I'm leaning on members' experience here to share their thoughts. It looks to be a bit of a faff to change the housing and thermostat so wanted to know if it's worth doing for this issue, or should I check other things?

I appreciate your time and input,

MM
