2005 Focus Head Unit swap

Featured Replies

Thanks in advance for any suggestions:

Just acquired a 2005 Focus with the standard 6000 CD player and I need to get Bluetooth!

I have tried a double-din replacement from Amazon - it was too small for the Ford fascia.

Tried a Bluetooth adapter which should operate on the Aux button - it did not work (connected but no sound).

Is there a plug and play Ford or other suppliers head unit which I can use please? Something an idiot can do......

I have read the guide on here but I think that is for a different model from mine.

Many thanks

Russ

The adapter will only do speech on a phone, won't stream your bangin' tunes...

🤣🤣🤣

The adapter also only works if the rest of the kit including the microphone is installed.

I had one of these when I used the standard stereo:

hook it up to the aux port on the quadlock, positive to ignition switched live and negative to ground and it just worked for A2DP streaming. Does nothing for phone calls and you have to manually select Aux to listen. If you get no sound then change the orientation of the aux plug (they're supposed to only go in one way but it's a generic plug and will go in upside down).
