Quick clear windscreen fault

Featured Replies

Hello. I've just joined the club. I've had a search on the topic of heated windscreen but am unable to find a discussion. I have a MK8 2020 Fiesta and the drivers side of the windscreen does not heat when the quick clear windscreen button is used. Only the left side clears. Ford main dealer have quoted £115 plus vat to run a diagnostic to see what the fault could be. I now know after checking that the windscreen is not original and at some point has been replaced. Has anyone come across this problem and more importantly a solution please? Could it be a fuse issue and if so which fuse/s for the heated windscreen? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you any 'paperwork' for the replacement screen as it does sound as if the electrical connector is no longer functioning correctly. Most replacement specialists offer a warranty and would be worth researching if it's still under guarantee...

Fuse F44 (40A) in the engine bay fusebox is for the right hand side of the screen.

Also worth checking the screen cables.  They run next to the bonnet hinges and can rub through.

Thanks, TomsFocus, I will check out the fuse you suggested as soon as I can and post the result. I'm away on holiday at the moment. Cheers
