Tail gate dropping about 100 mm

Ford galaxy titanium X powered tail gate drops around 4 inches from set height. I have reset the height to max but it still drops. When resetting at the lower height  after it drops the tail gate then drops a further 4 inches indicating the reset works.

Please advise has anyone else had this issue and what I can do to remedy.

    Got the same issue on my 2016 Titanium.

    I've swapped the gas strut on the right hand side, but its the same.

    Does anyone know if the motor strut on the other side is serviceable, does it need cleaning etc?

    Parts for the car seem to have gone through the roof price wise!
