dpf warning

Featured Replies

hi guys I've just bought a focus 1.5 tdci 2015 and after having a 2011 smax diesel and having nothing but dpf issues the whole time I had it

so my question is will I get a warning on dash when it needs cleaning and if so will it come up saying dpf needs cleaning or will it just throw up an error of some kind?

thanks in advance

DPF regeneration should be a totally 'hidden' process.  There is no warning unless it fails several regens and reaches the point where it's over-full.

People have different levels of sensitivity, I can sense a regen through the engine note, or the exhaust smell, or the drop in MPG, or the rad fan running on after engine switch-off.  Other people seem to be completely oblivious to these things and don't notice when a regen is in progress.
