Is this correct in the engine bay?

Featured Replies

Hope this is the right place to post this. Wasn’t too sure how to name the title sorry. I’ve just purchased a 2006 focus hatchback (which I believe is a mk2) I’ve not had it for a week yet and am looking up all kinds of things again (had a mark 4 fiesta ages ago) the seller told me that the ignition coil pack needs replacing (I’ve ordered it) as it idles a bit rough (jumps between 1000-1100 revs. So today I opened the boot to inspect as I’d like to get a mot on it soon. I’ve noticed a hose that’s been zip tied and there is air blowing out of it and near that I’ve noticed a smaller tube (plastic shiny) that connects to nothing. Was just wondering what they are and if they need to be connected somewhere ? Any advice is much appreciated! Also looking after a boot base, fuel flap bonnet release kit. I’m in Bedfordshire. I’ve attached pics of the hose.
much appreciated! Look forward to being a part of the focus club!

To answer the title...no.

Hopefully none of those are for brake boost.

I think one goes to the air filter box and one to the evap valve.

Looks like a loose bracket further back in the pic as well.  Does it have an aftermarket air filter?  Wider angle shot my help here.

Can you also confirm which engine it is?  1.6 non Ti-VCT?

I didn’t think it was! It’s getting dark now I’ll take a wide shot of the bay tomorrow. It’s a 1.6  non ti I believe but not sure, how can I tell? I’ll update the post tomorrow 🙂

Put the reg in here and it'll tell you engine type & power level.

Good news is it's a Ti-VCT...hope you can handle the extra 15 horses!

Bad news is, it looks like ape has changed the clutch or something  with all that mess.

Firstly the hard black pipe with white writing comes from the evap valve if you follow that up.  Open end should go to the manifold just under throttle body.  There's a red connector on there.  (Not visible in pic)

The soft rubber pipe also fits the bottom of the manifold with just a small nipple, easily missed.

Looks like the cam cover to airbox pipe is in tact so that's good.

That metal bracket with bolt marks is clearly in the wrong place.

The airbox retainer at the front is missing so the box will rattle.  Should be a rubber O-ring around the two hooks.

The fuel pipe with white clip looks odd.  May just be pic angle but I'd check that's not loose.
