Sync 3 update

That's what that zip file does it generates the log file to upload to the ford website,  if that's what ur missing

Thanks, but I think there is some sort of misunderstanding here.

I've already got the log file - I got that when the Car was updated and its now on my USB stick.

The problem is that the Ford Website is not working and it won't allow the log file to upload properly. In fact, when I try to upload the log file, it gets to the point of the Tick on the website turning green as if it has accepted it, but the data is never updated. This means that I can't get access to the new Sat Nav maps, which is what I'm really after.

Just logged on to the Sync & map update website and was met with this header.

warning-icon.00f53e58d539333b5c1f89ffea1

Some customers may experience issues with the SYNC downloads. We are working to get this resolved quickly, thank you for your patience.

I was about to re-contact ukcrc1 three and a half weeks after receiving this from them.

The technical team have advised that this will take 2-3 weeks to resolve.

Please contact us after this time if this is still not resolved.

Could the above headline on the sync & maps page be them trying to appease me. Still going to contact them as they requeted and see what their answer will be, although I already know from previous experiences with them.

That's probably just a 'typo' it should have read 2-3 months 🤣

Hi All

Maybe the end could be in sight for all of us that have been suffering with not being able to upload the log file correctly.

Just received this from UKCRC1 in answer to my query of some weeks ago.

We have been made aware that the sync is currently in migration from one system to another system.
This will improve the experience for our customers when downloading the sync.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to download the sync update until the 30th January.

Watch this space. Just thought, maybe this could be a new update and not something to correct the problem we have.

That's the funniest thing I've heard all week 🤣

As per my prediction 🤔 "That's probably just a 'typo' it should have read 2-3 months"

Just tried to upload the log file with no success. Still showing the previous version, so can't get the new map updates.

Seems 30th January was just a guess.

Ok, I think the Website is working as far as downloading Sync 3 updates, uploading the logfile and downloading new maps. It did not seem to work using my usual browser of Microsoft Edge, but did when I used Chrome.

I have managed to download the latest software update and installed in the car. It only took about 15 minutes. The log file upload also worked, giving me access to the latest maps, which I have downloaded. The file DONTINDX.MSA was missing, but I created that as a blank file. Apparently that is not really needed, as it just stops the system indexing the USB stick.

Now I just have to wait for a 2 hour journey so I can update the maps.

Have contacted ukcrc1 on this problem and got usual response  "Go to dealer nothing to do with us" even when it is their website the xml file was downloaded to. Anyway since I uploaded the xml file I have lost the ability to resubmit it on the https://www.ford.co.uk/support/sync-maps-updates#/  site.

Anyone know of another way of uploading the file to their website before I have a wasted trip to the dealers?

I have the same problem, displayed Ford message locks the update page, and I don’t log in. Did you resolve your problem, and if so, how?
