Rubbing Noise - Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have purchased a 2nd hand 2016 Ford Fiesta Titanium.

Recently, I noticed a rubbing noise (mainly when turning right) coming from front nearside I think.

This started as only when turning. I took my car to Ford, as the car was in warranty, who said this was due to a build up of debris on the brakes (although there was never any noise when braking, only when turning)? They polished & degreased the brakes. The noise did appear to go for a while, although there was then a new squeak when braking…. However, within a week, the rubbing noise returned, and was happening even when driving straight. The only way I can describe this noise, is to liken it to a steam train chuffing. I returned my car to Ford, who then replaced my brake discs & pads (although said there was nothing wrong with these & did this as gesture of goodwill).

The car is no longer “chuffing”, but the original rubbing noise when turning is still there, (plus now the new squeak/grind when braking, since the new brakes have been fitted).

I’ve seen on here, and other forums, that this appears to be a common fault/issue - but haven’t managed to find an answer/resolve? Has anyone else had this issue, who can advise how they managed to fix this please?

Thank you in advance.
