Palestine march in London.....

Featured Replies

All this chat about the London police commissioner about allowing a palestinian protest march on Saturday so it doesn't clash with remembrance Sunday misses one very very very important point.......Saturday is the 11th which is Armistice Day!!

There shouldn't be any other event whatsoever scheduled for that day other than bowing our heads for the dead of The Great War.

But there will be because the, minority, hard left has the loudest voice and the Police will do nothing

If you counter protest you're a hard right racist

Not forgetting that while originally held after WW1 it also commemorates all those who lost their lives in subsequent conflicts, many of which, I daresay, some of these protesters will know little or nothing about.

......and care even less 🙁

I posted the above on Facebook on the ITV news page, a few laughing smilies & pictures.

''''''so the people being killed today, should just be ignored? Do you know what armistice means?'''''''

Here in NI we know a thing or two about marches. Everyone taking part in one has a self belief that there's is a true & just cause, and dam any consequence of anyone that doesn't like it.

However, one of our big news stories was this summer, when an 'orange' (read primarily Protestant)  march delayed their usual parade to allow a GAA (read primarily Catholic) to celebrate a recent sporting victory - indeed many in the Orange parade stood and applauded them.

All it takes is a bit of conciliation, and the the reducing of arrogance that your cause is the only one...

The government and police should have just said no it’s not happening this weekend but neither have the courage to say so.

Got no backbone no more have we, my grandad would turn in his grave if he could see how things are now! He fought the germans in WW1 and right to his dying day he hated anyone who was german, something must have clicked in his mind to not lay that war to rest, he just couldn't.

I could put something in this thread that means oh so much for me. But how I'd put it would get me a lifetime ban from this forum.

Oh yes this winds me up like you wouldn't believe.

Define "event"

If no other event should be held today, does that include today's Lord Mayor's Show and Parade, all football and rugby matches, world trampoline champs in Birmingham, sales in shops, ect ect.

Like it or not for huge numbers in the UK, Armistice Day is just not their foremost thought, for I suspect the majority it's tomorrow Remembrance Day that has meaning, the day when most towns and villages actually have their church service and Remembrance events.

People seem to forget Armistice Day is about the end of World War 1, and it's Remembrance Day that we commemorate our fallen from all wars.

Well my mate said there will be trouble today and there was in London.....Fighting with Police where a group of people tried to storm the Cenotaph, these people whoever with their beliefs have no respect at all.

From my mate!......

'''''I would line them up in court and tell em, okay to be fair with you we are going to apply the same law that would apply in your own country, so we've asked a Muslim cleric what would happen if a Christian stormed a mosque on ramadan?...... They'd crap themselves''''

'''''A new law should be introduced...... Anybody found guilty of breaking the law in this country by taking illegal actions based on their beliefs and/or support of any other countries shall have that countries laws applied to their activity, that would apply to British nationals taking illegal activity in support of another country as well'''''

'''''Do gooders can all f-off cos' what's wrong with Israeli trouble makers being tried by Israeli law and a Palestinian being tried with Palestinian law'''''

Those that caused trouble and violence at the Cenotaph, were British thugs, tell your mate they will apply the same law that would apply in their own country, UK law.

It's not "do gooders" causing trouble it's ignorant British scum, and that's who should f-off.

I support anyone's right to hold a peaceful and respectful demonstration of their sincerely held views. Without that, why did those we remember today give their lives?

The problem is, as usual, that good intentions get hijacked by the inevitable pond life and rent a mob, which is a great pity.
