Dashboard Information Lights Staying On

Featured Replies

Hi I need your help, I have a 2010 Ford Focus Keyless Start/Stop, when I switch off the engine and lock the doors the information panel on the dashboard (mileage/temp/etc) stays on all night resulting in a flat battery in the morning, I have checked it numerous times throughout the evening and it never goes off.

I disconnected the battery and left it for an hour and then reconnected it back up and it seemed to rest itself, I had no more issues for a few days then it started doing the same thing again resulting in a flat battery.

Any ideas would be a great help, thanks

Does your car have Bluetooth?

Hi, Yes it does have bluetooth.

One common fault is that the Bluetooth module, (which is normally located behind the glovebox) can remain active and not shut down. This keeps the Canbus system alive and hence the instrument cluster remains on.

You can check by just unplugging the Bluetooth module and see if after 20 minutes the instrument cluster goes to sleep.

If after trying the that, you still have the problem then the next most common cause of this problem is that the solder joints on the instrument cluster are starting to fail and the unit needs repaired/refurbished.
