Did mine today. It has started to cough recently on startup and want to rule out some of the basic parts.

Watched many videos etc and they all warned about priming the system after replacing the filter. I'm starting to think that I must have some sort of unique Galaxy.

Anyway,ordered this on europarparts 503545319    MANN-FILTER Fuel Filter along with a PSA primer from fleabay

To my alarm the filter wasn't the same type after I got the housing open. The original had a type of extension at the end that fits into the well of the filter housing. BUT the filter fitted very neatly to the outlet pipe, so I went with it.

After a long time tying to pump the diesel from the tank i gave up and started it anyway. I have stop/start button and the dash gave me many warnings and refused to turn over. I could hear a pump running somewhere. After 3 goes at starting it, it finally turned over and started without hesitation. So, i think I have a pump in the tank and a self priming system.

Simple job in the end.
