2014 Ford Fiesta Changed Starter and still No Start

Featured Replies

Hi I have a Fiesta that was making a grinding sound one day and now it will not start. I took it to Firestone and they told me it is the starter. Change out the starter and still no crank nor start. Not showing any codes. Only has 87k miles on it!! Not sure what to do. Hopefully motor is not gone

What engine is it ?

That doesn't sound too promising

It is a 1.6 Motor. I changed that battery and Starter on it. Still dont know what it could be. Any ideas? Sorry for the late response.

It is a 1.6 non turbo

Take it to a decent mechanic.

First step - Take the spark-plugs out - turn the engine over by hand.

Were the battery cables checked when the battery & starter were replaced?  They need to be in good condition to carry enough amps for the starter motor.

OK let's go back to this - starter motors 99% don't grind when they fail - they just won't turn.

Was the car grinding when you tried to start, or did it start grinding when the engine was already running?

Depending on the above, it sounds very unlikely that the electrics are the root cause.  Check that the engine will rotate freely by taking the spark-plugs out - turn the engine over by hand.

If this isn't something you feel you can do, find a decent mechanic.
