Power steering not turning on

Featured Replies

Hi all got a mk2 focus 1.6 2.0 converted

So after sorting out some previous issues I have now found a new one

Power steering pump doesn't turn on but when I go and put a heavy wire from batter to power steering pump connector it works fine any help

Someone will slap me down but I think you need HPAS for a 2.0 not EPAS.

You may have to consider changing the rack

Changed it same thing

EHPAS is controlled by the PCM as it's speed variable and uses a huge amount of power that the alternator output has to adapt for.  The 2.0 PCM may not be set up for it.

Can you access the EHPAS module in Forscan?

Can you see any tickboxes in the PCM for PAS type?  May need ELMConfig for that on a Mk2, not sure if Forscan covers that sort of thing now.
