Need help!

Hey all, I'm having engine problems with my 2012 ford focus. Been told that it has probably overheated prior to getting the car (was told by a "ford specialist" and only had it 17 months and it's on HP finance as well) which was a time bomb waiting to go off. Had a mechanic look at it to do a pressure test to see if any liquids had leaked into the engine, but to do that was going to have to remove the spark plugs. Removed 2 fine but the 3rd snapped with very little pressure applied. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can possibly do that doesn't involve a very expensive fix? I did hear in passing that certain years of ford focus ford will replace the engine on good will/good faith. Is this true and how would you go about finding that out for sure? Any help is greatly appreciated

Totally untrue. Even cars just 6 months out of warranty Ford will still charge around £5000 for replacing the engine claiming that they are giving a 50% discount off the full price of £8500. Yes I know that doesn't work out to normal people as being 50% but the way Ford go about calculating the cost it is to them !!

Your 2012 car should have had a full service and the wet timing belt and wet oil pump belt replaced last year (10 years old) which Ford charge around £1800 for the work. I assume that was not done, or was it ?

Brand new Ford 1.0 Ecoboost engines can be bought and fitted by some specialist dealers like PumaSpeed for £3200 all inclusive.
