Ford focus power steering fluid 1.6 petrol 2005 automatic

Featured Replies

Hi Ford forum friends,I have recently got a 2005 Ford focus 1.6 automatic which I really like,62,000 miles. My question is power steering fluid,I looked at the fluid and it seems a quite dirty red,in the handbook it gives a code for green fluid,I spoke to my mechanic and he said use red but I neglected to get a brand,so I wondered if any one here could tell me a red power steering fluid to use? Hope that makes sense thanks in advance

Use the Ford/Motorcraft fluid WSS-M2C195-A

Hi Unofix sorry for the delay in replying I fell asleep, thats superb exactly what I needed thank you

It should be green in Mk2's.  Some were incorrectly filled with red from the factory.

Don't mix them.

My own car was incorrectly filled with red from the factory, but I just left it that way and it was fine.  I'd say either just top up with red again or do a full drain if you want to replace it with the green.
