Sticky wheel

Featured Replies

Hi,

for the past couple years my focus’s wheel has been sticky, no amount of cleaning, scrubbing, agitation seems to work and only appears to make it worse.

wondering if anyone else has had this issue on a mk3 as I can’t find much on it, nor how to fix it.. if it needs replacement or if it can be fixed.

Here’s what I mean

thanks

wipe it over with isopropyl alcohol it may take a few wipes, then use a propriatery vinyl cleaner, polish.

Someone probably cleaned it with something that has solvent in and attacked the plastic. Is it just the central part?

That worked! I used a panel prep mix I had which is about 50% ipa the a mix of apc and water.. which nearly got it all off. The majority came off and looks much better for it
