2011 Powershift - new owner

Featured Replies

HI,

I've put a deposit down on a 2011 Galaxy Titanium X with powershift. A few issues were identified and got even more money off the reduced listing.

The main issue is that there was a bit of a jerking getting into gears. Not a noise but you can certainly feel it. I only noticed it at slow speeds but it was a relatively short city drive so slow was all I could really do.
The garage have said they will change the transmission fluid; but I did ask what they'll do if it doesn't and was told they'll fix it.

So hopefully they'll keep their word, but what are the likely causes? Is it a simple oil change, or what else may it be?

There was also an issue with the quick clear windscreen, maybe. The vehicle had been sat for a while and the windscreen had fogged up on the inside. With front vents working on full and quick clear on it was taking a long time to clear, I had to enable it a couple times as it was timing out. I imagine aircon was out of gas and not helping. Would quick clear even help with fogging or is it just for deicing?
In case the fogging wasn't just because it was sat - are there any areas where water leaks in? I should have checked if the front carpets were wet.

The car also has the factory 7" screen with satnav but I didn't see any options for DAB. Is it just the Sony radios which have this?

Final question is the boot. With the rear seats down there's no boot lip. Is there anything tips or an aftermarket product to stop things accidently falling out when you open it?

I've found the inside windscreen slow to clear. Run a dehumidifier inside overnight to dry her out. I also have one of those little beanbag things to keep moisture out of the cabin. Wet dog and kids etc make the carpets damp.

Gearbox might be worn rear engine mount. I'm changing mine soon because my engine is very sloppy and gear changes sometimes cause a slap. I've also got some rocking when coasting that I think is also caused by slop in the lower mount. I'll move to the nearside upper if not resolved and then the expensive offside one.

Don't know about dab

Quikclear works very well for demisting when it's just a very thin layer of mist inside.

It does not work when there are visible water droplets on the screen though.
