ENGINE PENDING START MESSAGE

Featured Replies

Can anyone advise?

I recently changed my battery, since I have changed the battery I KEEP HAVING STARTING ISSUES, the message on the dash says ENGINE PENDING START. The car will start but on some occasions after 5/ 6 times on pressing start. It is a Diesal 2017 plate FORD FOCUS. Has anyone experienced this fault?

Thanks

Carl.

Is it possible the car is waiting for the glow plugs to heat before it allows it to start?

I didn't get a warning message but my old 11 plate mk3 diesel did something similar when cold and I decided it must have been the glow plugs.

Good point.  If it's cold, hold the clutch down, press the start button once and then just wait...the engine will start itself when the plugs are warm.
